Part I - Avoiding Legal Landmines
This class is designed to inform supervisors and managers of the potential mistakes which can lead to litigation claims and is based on the expertise of the national law firm of Littler, Mendelson, Fastiff, Tichy & Mathiason.  Learning to avoid legal landmines will enable you to eliminate most legal problems or at least to be prepared if taken to court.  Also, being aware of the landmines enables you to practice positive management that would improve employee performance.

Part II - Harassment Awareness
Harassment Awareness is designed to heighten the awareness of what actions are considered harassment. It includes how to avoid actions considered sexual harassment as well as other types of employment harassment.  UAB policies and Employment Laws dealing with harassment issues are discussed to increase the knowledge which will help to avoid possible litigation.

This class should be a must for anyone with supervisory responsibilities or aspiring to move into supervision. Also, anyone interested in learning about Employment Law and UAB Policy relating to harassment would benefit from the information provided in this class.
