Compensation
The Compensation Division of UAB's Office of Human Resource Management is responsible for the design, development, administration and maintenance of a University-wide compensation classification and pay delivery program.
This responsibility includes:
- The development and adjustment of salary structures,
- The establishment of job and performance evaluation methodologies,
- The communication of pay policies and procedures, and
- Consultation with management regarding pay distribution strategies.
Each classification within UAB's general grade and range structure is assigned a corresponding pay grade and range. These grades and ranges collectively form the University's general grade and range structure.
Our Mission
The mission of The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) HR Compensation Division is to develop equitable and competitive compensation policies, programs and practices. Compensation is committed to providing guidance in the design, development and maintenance of a competitive and cost effective pay plan throughout all business units. Compensation partners with management to create innovative solutions in the area of compensation to fulfill the needs of the University and Hospital business units in order to attract, retain, motivate and develop a diverse work population.
