Employee Transfers and Other Services
The Human Resources online application system allows employees interested in seeking a transfer to apply electronically.
The system:
- Eliminates the need to fax or submit a hardcopy application to the Employment Office
- Lists the hiring department for each job opening
- Lets you view current career opportunities or search on specific criteria to find careers that match your interests
- Allows you to apply directly for a specific position or multiple (up to 5) positions posted on the web
- Sends you an email confirmation (using the e-mail address you provide) to let you know that your application has been submitted successfully.
The Office of Human Resources is committed to assisting you best prepare for your next career move to navigate through the process of getting there. The entire staff in the Employment Office will work with you on transferring to open jobs in your specific job category of interest.
All open University staff positions are posted on the Employment Office job listings Web site. To be considered for job openings you will need to apply or re-apply online through the BlazerNet Web site (please see below for detailed instructions). The steps to apply are simple and will only take a few minutes of your time. If you do not have easy access to a computer, you may use one of the Employment Office computer kiosks located on the first floor of the Administration Building at 701 20th Street South to complete your application.
The University of Alabama at Birmingham encourages transfers for promotion and lateral growth opportunities. You will need to follow the steps below to apply for a transfer:
- Internal candidates should access the Blazernet Web site.
- Login to BlazerNet using your BlazerID and Strong Password.
- After you have logged in, click on the Employee Resources tab for access to UAB Employment Opportunities (under Quick Links section).
- Search openings*
- View Job Details
- Apply for a job(s)
- Review Resume/CV Profile
- Submit Attachments
- Complete Questions and Additional Information
- Receive Email Confirmation (if you provided an email address)
* If you do not have access to a computer, you may visit the University Employment Office (located in the Administration Building, Room 110) to obtain access to the web to apply online.
Your resume will be reviewed by one of the Staffing Specialist listed below. Provided all job requirements for the position of interest are met, you may be contacted by a Human Resources Staffing Specialist or a Hiring Manager for an interview.
