UAB Temporary Services
UAB Temporary Services is a UAB Recruitment Services department offering qualified temporary staff to organizations within the UAB campus, including UAB Hospital, UAB Health Services Foundation, Viva and Southern Research Institute. We provide placement for temporary employee candidates in a timely manner while providing a cost-effective and efficient way to meet department staffing needs.
Temporary opportunities or “engagements” are often limited to a specific time-limited duration. Our temporary staff can help managers address situations such as work volume increases, unscheduled absences, special events/conferences, project augmentation, and employee leaves or absences and assist candidates who are seeking temporary employment opportunities.
UAB Temporary Services can also facilitate temporary to permanent roles, which provide temporary employees with an opportunity to gain work experience, while managers determine if longer term employment may be the next step. It is a mutually beneficial situation for all involved.
UAB temporary employees have the opportunity to learn more about UAB and gain additional experience while working on various engagements in a temporary capacity.

Do You Need Temporary Assistance?
In addition to the areas listed above, UAB Temporary Services will also provide specialty searches and temporary staffing for positions not listed above. Please note that use of outside temporary employment agencies by UAB managers is discouraged, as UAB may be held liable for the conduct of outside agencies, plus, those agencies are potentially more expensive to utilize. Private agencies should be used only after it is determined that no qualified individual is available through the UAB Temporary Services.
